Nyang Nyang Beach is one of the most secluded and stunning beaches in all of Bali. Famous for its white sand, great surf spots, and turquoise waters.

Located in the Uluwatu region, Nyang Nyang Beach is one of the areas cleanest beaches. The beach is somewhat challenging to reach and will require you to hike around 20 minutes down an extremely steep road.

It’s well worth the struggle, and at the end you are rewarded with a quiet beach, stunning views, and crystal clear waters.

How to get to Nyang Nyang Beach

Nyang Nyang beach sits in the Pecatu area in southern Bali, approximately one hour south of Kuta.

If you are using Google Maps, getting to the beach is easy. Simply pick Nyang Nyang beach as the destination, and you’re ready to go!

If you’re coming from Uluwatu Temple, turn right from Jl. Raya Uluwatu Pecatu and there will be signposts for Nyang Nyang Beach. Follow the street until you reach the parking area.

There are no entrance fees, and parking costs 2,000 IDR per motorbike.

The most popular way of reaching the beach is by motorbike. There are plenty of rental shops around the island. Alternatively, you can take either a Grab or Go-Jek taxi for an affordable price.

From the parking bay, follow the signposts to the beach. The trek down to Nyang Nyang beach is neither easy nor short. The stairs are incredibly steep, and it will take between 20 to 25 minutes to reach the bottom.

Make sure to wear suitable footwear as the path can sometimes be very rocky and slippery. You will find locals along the trail selling essential supplies such as water, snacks, and hats. Although you may be able to purchase water along the way, we advise bringing your own supplies.

When you arrive at Nyang Nyang beach, you are greeted by breathtaking views and crystal clear waters. Few people take the hike down to the beach, meaning its usually very calm and peaceful.

There is a shipwreck that sits buried in the sand, which makes a popular spot for some fresh photos.

You can take a walk, soak up the sun, or simply enjoy the clear waters.

There are no shops or restaurants at Nyang Nyang, so make sure to bring your own food and water. You can sometimes find the occasional snack vendor, but it’s always best to come prepared.

Things to know before arriving

If you want the beach to yourself, try to arrive as early as possible. If you’re coming later, make sure to stick around for sunset as Nyang Nyang is one of the best sunset spots in the South of Bali.

There are plenty of Instagram-able photo spots such as the shipwreck found on the shore. The best time to take photos is usually before 1 pm.

The beach is spotless, and the water is excellent for swimming. There are sometimes strong currents, so it’s not possible to swim too far out.

It’s best to leave before it gets dark as the trek back up to the top can become dangerous without any vision.
