The Best Viewpoints In Lisbon To Visit In 2022

Lisbon is one of the most vibrant cities in all of Europe, offering a diverse collection of beautiful views and natural settings. The surreal landscape has you roaming from ancient castles overlooking historic architecture to viewpoints where you can witness the entire city.

Once you’ve explored Lisbon from the ground level and are wondering where to see next, it’s a good idea to head upwards and overlook some of the cities biggest landmarks and attractions.

There are numerous viewpoints where you can witness a panoramic view of Libson, from rooftop bars and restaurants to secret hilltops. Here are our best viewpoints in Lisbon for enjoying spectacular views across the city.

Elevador de Santa Justa

Elevador de Santa Justa

Located in the heart of Lisbon, Elevador de Santa Justa is one of the cities most famous attractions. The elevator was built in the late 19th century and transports passengers up 45m to an incredible observation deck.

Historically the lift played an important role in Lisbon’s public transport system, but today is just another tourist attraction.

There can sometimes be long queue times, so we suggest arriving early to avoid the wait. Nonetheless, the view is certainly worth waiting for.

A return ticket costs €5.15 and includes free entrance to the observation deck. There can only be a maximum of 29 visitors on the observation deck at any time, so again, expect long wait times during peak hours.

Once you arrive at the top you will be greeted by stunning views overlooking the Baixa district. Since opening to the public, it has become one of the best viewpoints in Lisbon.
